Music
Music plays a significant role in life at St Christopher’s.
It is an art form that inspires creativity and teamwork, whilst helping to develop sensitivity and self-confidence. Our curriculum supports the belief that creative music-making should offer pupils the opportunity to create, present and attend music in all its guises. All pupils from Reception to Year 6 receive specialist music teaching twice a week, and we are proud that all girls receive weekly whole-class singing lessons. The curriculum is designed to inspire and challenge pupils, and the seven musical elements (rhythm, pitch, dynamics, texture, structure, timbre, tempo) are central to all activities.
