Drama

Drama gives girls the opportunity to imagine, create, perform and, most importantly, have fun. Through games, storytelling, improvisation and performance, pupils build confidence, develop their creativity and learn to work closely with others.

Girls enjoy drama lessons from Reception, and from Year 4 they are taught by a specialist drama teacher. Alongside developing performance skills, they learn to collaborate, communicate clearly and support one another as part of an ensemble. Whether speaking to a small group or performing to a full audience, girls are encouraged to take pride in their contribution and grow in confidence.

Performance is an important part of drama at St Christopher’s. Every year group takes part in an annual production, ranging from Shakespeare and musical theatre to original performances created by the girls themselves. These productions are carefully designed to ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate, develop their skills and enjoy the experience of performing.

At St Christopher’s, drama is about more than being on stage. It helps girls find their voice, express their ideas and discover the confidence to try something new.
