When we celebrate Languages Day, we celebrate communication, which is so much more than just the spoken word. Every child learned to say `hello` and `good morning` in a new language today; they also took part in a veritable smörgåsbord of dance workshops. Year 1 treated us to a performance of Greek dancing in assembly, with gleeful whoops of `Opa!`. Years 3 and 6 learned dances from Africa, Year 2 from Italy, it was back to Greece for Reception, off to India for Year 5, and Year 4 showcased perfectly proud posture and passion in their Spanish dance session.
