Making a difference
Girls are encouraged to take an active role in school life and to help shape the community around them.
Each class elects School Council representatives who gather ideas from their classmates and share them in regular meetings. Led by Year 6 pupils, the council discusses suggestions, plans initiatives and helps organise events for the wider school community.
There are many opportunities for girls to take on responsibility. Roles such as Sports Captain, Library Ambassador, Charity Ambassador and Rights Rep allow pupils to contribute to school life, support others and develop confidence, teamwork and leadership skills.
Many of the ideas that make St Christopher’s such a happy and welcoming place have come directly from our pupils. The friendship bench and climbing frame, Meat Free Mondays, and campaigns to reduce paper waste and encourage walking to school all began as pupil-led initiatives. Girls have also organised projects and events focused on topics ranging from democracy to environmental responsibility.
By encouraging girls to share their ideas and take action, we help them understand that their voice matters and that even small actions can make a positive difference.
