Music

Our music department offers the joy of creative music making to every child. We engage in inclusive, practical, and joyful music both in the classroom and beyond.

Girls explore vocalising, playing instruments, rhythm, ensemble playing, singing in a choir and performing to an audience during assemblies, concerts and stage productions throughout the year. We are a singing school and celebrate the wonders that singing together can do for our wellbeing and happiness; every class has weekly singing lessons as well as weekly choir rehearsals, and every girl is a member of one of our choirs – Little Voices, Middle School, or Upper School.

Making music together is a privilege to be cherished. Our ensembles include Chamber Choir, Guitar Group, Orchestra, String Groups and Wind Band.

While music is enjoyed by all, we celebrate excellence, and give our pupils a spotlight to shine and share their musical passion with the school community.

A team of thirteen professional musicians visits the school, to provide over 150 individual instrumental and singing lessons throughout the week on cello, clarinet, flute, guitar, piano, recorder, saxophone, violin, and voice, and we host ABRSM exams throughout the year.
